The Differences & Similarities Between Device & Drug Studies

Who would benefit?
Those working on device and or medicinal product (drug) studies who wish to have further knowledge of the issues associated with device studies. This may include those who have already conducted drug studies, but are new to device studies in both industry and healthcare settings and those working with products that are drug device combination products.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:-
- Identify clearly what the differences are between conducting device and drug studies.
- Identify clearly the similarities between device and drug studies.
- Understand more about conducting device studies and the regulations for device studies.
Programme
This one day practical course will use examples and excercises to demonstrate the differences and similarities that exist for device and drug studies. Discussion will also be held on how these may affect the way we conduct device studies.
- Background on what medical devices are.
- Background on the Medical Device Directives.
- Overview of the differences between drug and medical device studies.
- Overview of the similarities between drug and medical device studies.
